Canadian Fishing Trip

July 27-August 1, 2011

fishingTrip Cost for Adults:  $265/Adult  Includes travel, food, camping, etc.      

Special Rate for Children (17 & under):  $165

(Trip not recommended for kids under 8.  Parents’ discretion advised for younger kids and parent/guardian must accompany any child.)  Trip is  intended for men only.

Possible Additional Expenses:

1. A passport book/card or an Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL)

2. Fishing license ($49.02 for adults).  Kids fish free on adult license.

3.  Outdoor Card ($9.68)  Good for three years in Canada.moose

Deposit:  Deposit required to reserve your place.  Space is limited.    $150 for adults. $100 for kids.  The trip is first offered to East Bay Calvary Church attendees and those who do not have a church home.  After March 31st the trip will be open to all.

Lake Destination:  We will be camping on a remote lake an hour north of the town of Chapleau, ON.  The lake is peppered with islands and rocky shoreline.  Our enormous screen tent, provides a bug free environment to relax and cook in.  You can expect to see great wildlife at this location.  Lake depth is from 5’ to 35’. 

Travel:  9 Hours of travel from Traverse City, we will leave Wednesday  early morning and return late Monday night.  Travel to the lake will      include several miles on a rugged two track.  Travel in and out by boat is a rugged wilderness experience and you will be prepped ahead of time for a safe and enjoyable travel experience.   river

Partial Packing List:  Bible, Tent, Sleeping Bags, Clothing, Basic     Fishing Tackle, Toiletries, Sunscreen, Repellant, Life Vests, Swim Suit, Folding Chair, Raingear, Flashlights, Eating Utensil Set, 2 Pair of Shoes, etc. (complete list available on request) 

Fishing Expectations:  The walleye are plentiful on this lake and their size is larger than most typical lakes in Canada.  In addition, it is common to catch 30”+ Northern on this lake.  Fishing techniques are jigging,      trolling and casting of spoons, rapelas and crankbaits. 

Safety:  Safety will be our first priority.  There will be medical evacuation plans in place, we plan to carry satellite phones, a detailed First Aid Kit & will practice water safety guidelines.
