On Friday, February 8, 2008 the Sportsmen's Club at East Bay Calvary Church will be holding its sixth annual Sportsmen's banquet.  Each year has been a wonderful success with nearly 800 attending last year with Jimmy Houston as our keynote speaker.  Last year we gave away 40 guns, an ice fishing package, a rifle hunting package, a bow hunting package and several thousands of dollars in great hunting and fishing prizes.  Plus, everyone went away with several nice gifts.  We had a great evening of fun and outdoor comradery.

We are excited to have nationally known speaker, author and humorist, Joey Hancock, with us this year as our keynote speaker.  Joey has been on stages all across America. He has been asked to speak for high schools, colleges, seminaries, civic clubs, churches and corporations. As an outdoor TV personality, professional guide and outdoor writer, Joey speaks at many Wild Game Dinners and Outdoor Events all across the country. Joey and his dogs have also been a part of the Quail Unlimited Celebrity Hunt. 

 As an avid outdoorsman, Joey was listed as one of the "Top Ten Turkey Hunters" in Alabama (1991) and is on the pro staff of a number of outdoor companies. He has been a professional guide for quail and turkey for over twenty years.  When his schedule permits, he is the Chaplain for a NASCAR Busch racing team.  The Georgia Writer's Association recently presented Joey the Georgia Author of the Year Award in 2006 for his Inspirational Book Success Afield.

We feel very fortunate to have numerous companies participate with us as corporate sponsors.  Not only does this give us the chance to promote your business to all the sportsmen who attend, but it helps to make a great event like this possible.  Some have sponsored guns, some fishing or camping gear, plus other wonderful prizes.  Others have joined in by donating cash gifts.  Each sponsor's name is displayed during the banquet on a Power Point presentation as a form of advertisement and also they are given promotion space in our color printed Sportsmen's Notebook, which will be in the hands of each person who comes through the doors.
